International Side Walk Astronomy Day

I held an event in downtown Pullman, and I attracted about 40 students, and a couple of people off the sidewalk, but unfortunately due to light pollution we could not view anything from my telescope. It was frustrating, but at that point we just started looking at constellations and talked about what we like about Astronomy. Here are some pics!

Pullman Family Fair

The PDSC invited me along to help with the Pullman family fair yesterday. It went well, and reached about 215 people. I had a small geometrical optics demo, bending light around in a triangle. Pictures coming soon!

Comet Making!

Since I have joined the PDSC, I have given four planetarium shows. I love showing little kids the night sky, because they really think its cool! After this last time (Feb 28th), we made comets!

Unfortunately, the star party that night was cancelled because it was cloudy :(

Star Party Success!

We had a GREAT turnout to the IYA Kick Off Event last night! I would guess around 200 people showed up!

Here was the collaborations:

PAS: They opened up the observatory and were showing people awesome celestial objects through their telescopes ( Orion Nebula, clusters, Venus, Moon).

WSU Physics Dept/ Physics and Astronomy Club: Provided drinks, table, hot water heaters, baked goods, couple of astronomy schtuffs.

IYA (me): Provided cupcakes, free astronomy stuff, slide show, movie, music
