Planning...

Today I put up some posters in Webster, sent some to different departments on campus, and gave some to another student who will help me put them up in Moscow.

Mary with the Physics and Astronomy club has offered to lend me some hot water containers and beverages to supply for Saturday. Woohoo!

I am going to stop by the CUB so they can post there, and I also need to send the graphic to local schools. Intended targets for posters:

Pullman: daily grind, restaurants, libraries, CUB, other parts of campus, science center, grocery stores
Moscow: coffee houses, u of I campus, walmart, grocery stores, the mall

I need to get a mailing list going.. and work on my lesson plan!

Need to find a white sheet for the projector set up at the observatory...

Tonight I'm going to post around Pullman.

Behind the scenes

I hope to make this a way to unify everyone so they can see what is happening behind the scenes for the International Year of Astronomy in the Palouse Region. More updates soon!

Collaboration!

So in the Palouse region, here are the collaborations I have made so far:

WSU Physics and Astronomy Club for event support
Palouse Astronomical Society
Palouse Discovery Science Center
Another NIYAer, from U of Idaho Campus

I'm trying to tackle the region from two venus:
1. The classroom
2. Public events

I've made bookmarks, posters, and ordered some space stuff for the public events
Now I need to make a lesson plan for the local teachers whom I want to work with/for.

I've received training for the Jewett Observatory here, and am currently receiving training
for the WSU Planetarium and the PDSC Planetarium.

Now I need to schedule with the other students when they want to help me set up stuff...

Should be fun!
